It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Edwin Salter
on November 21.

Many of us have had the privilege of working with Dr. Salter and have numerous fond memories of him. He began practicing pediatrics in 1958 in Lake Forest. With Dr. Elmer Kadison and Drs. Gerald and Arthur Lasin, Dr. Salter was a founding member of Lake Forest Pediatric Associates in the 1960s. He was active on the medical staffs at Lake Forest Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Although he retired from practice in 1997, Dr. Salter remained in close contact with us not only at the holiday parties and medical staff dinners but as our ambassador to Lake Forest Hospital, delivering cookies with Sheila to the different floors and departments every December. We will miss his calm, soothing voice and great bow ties.

Repaving projects seem to be everywhere we look! Construction is happening on Milwaukee Avenue, Route 137, Route 176, and Route 43 (to name a few!). Please give yourself a little more time to reach our offices and consider checking for alternate routes.

New Moms, please join us for an upcoming meeting of our New Moms Group at the Lake Bluff Office. Facilitated by Gail Macklin RN BNS IBCLC RLC of New Mother New Baby, we support one another in a warm, welcoming environment. We talk about everything, from soothing a fussy baby to making time for Mom. At each meeting, we explore a topic that is helpful to new Moms.

Thanksgiving Holiday Office Hours

Lake Forest Pediatric Accociates Lake Bluff office will be open to serve you on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015. Office hours are available from 8:00am to 12:00pm, by appointment only. We do not offer walk in sick call on Thanksgiving Day. Our Lindenhurst and Vernon Hills offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Lake Forest Pediatric Accociates Lake Bluff and Lindenhurst offices will be open to serve you the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. Both offices will be open for walk in sick call and regular office hours on Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, 2015.

Our Vernon Hills office will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27 and as always, is closed on the weekends.

Lake Forest Pediatrics announces the addition of estatements to our available offerings for busy parents.

Now, parents can choose to receive their Lake Forest Pediatrics statements electronically. Electronic statements can help parents reduce paperwork, saving time and postage.

With our new estatement option, receive your Lake Forest Pediatrics statements electronically and pay bills online. Instructions to join the program will be included with your next paper statement. The instructions will direct you to a website where you may sign up for estatements and/or make electronic payments.

Sign up and manage payments online or continue to receive paper statements in the mail. The choice is yours.

Unfortunately, Lake Forest Pediatrics is not able to participate in any of the BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois Blue Choice plans.

While we are happy to continue providing healthcare services to Blue Choice members, we highly encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to verify your benefits and eligibility. Many times out-of-network medical services are not reimbursed and/or applied to separate out-of-network deductibles causing patients to incur higher out of pocket costs.

Effective Saturday, July 9, blood draw services will no longer be available at our Lindenhurst and Vernon Hills locations. Patients who require blood drawn for testing are welcome to visit our Lake Bluff location Monday – Friday between the hours of
10 a.m. – 5 p.m., OR our offices can also recommend local draw stations in
Lindenhurst, Vernon Hills, Gurnee, Grayslake and Lake Forest.
