Metra announced that it will replace the collapsed retaining wall on the Route 45 bridge near Libertyville starting today. Northbound Route 45 will be closed between Peterson Road and Route 137 for about a month. Read more here.
The closure is expected to cause delays on Northbound Route 45 and adjacent roadways. Click here for an interactive map of road conditions in the area. The recommended detour is to take Northbound Route 83 to Route 120.

Our Lake Bluff office will be open to serve you on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2017 and New Years Day, January 1, 2018.
Office hours are available from 8:00am to 12:00pm for urgent care appointments only. We do not offer walk in sick call on Christmas Day or New Years Day.

For those families with Land of Lincoln Health insurance, changes are in the works.
As you may have heard, the health insurance plan is being taken over by the State of Illinois and may soon be closing. Affected families will be able to secure alternate insurance on the exchange via a special enrollment.
When you look at the available health insurance options, be sure to consider plans for which Lake Forest Pediatrics is a participating “in-network” provider. Please review your insurance options carefully, as many exchange-based plans do not include Lake Forest Pediatrics.

The CDC has announced the results of scientific studies on the flu mist. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) found the nasal mist vaccine to be relatively ineffective in flu seasons from 2013-2016. The most recent round of research found the flu mist no longer offers a stronger immunity than the traditional flu shot. Because of this, Lake Forest Pediatric Associates will only offer the more effective injected flu vaccination option this year.
